NextWave Electronics was founded by Tony Redding, whose passion for electronics began at the young age of six. From an early age, Tony was fascinated by how electronic devices functioned, a curiosity that naturally evolved into a lifelong career in the industry.

At 18, Tony began his professional journey at an electronics repair shop in Te Awamutu, where he honed his skills working on televisions, VCR's, audio equipment, computer systems, general electronics and aerial installations. His commitment to learning and excellence led to an apprenticeship specializing in the repair of electronic TVs and audio systems.

Tony's career progressed as he moved to Dunedin to work with Next Electronics, later transferring with the company to its Tauranga and Hamilton branches. In 2005, he accepted a role with the Tisco Waikato in Hamilton until March 2025.

In April 2025 he launched his own business which today, is known as NextWave Electronics.

Today, NextWave Electronics proudly services Hamilton and the greater Waikato region, as well as Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty. With a foundation built on decades of hands-on experience and a deep passion for electronics, the company is committed to delivering expert repair and installation services with a focus on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
